Attachment Blueprint Intervention

Attachment Blueprint

The Attachment Blueprint Intervention aims to unearth the fundamental trauma incident that disrupted an individual’s connection with themselves, as well as their perception of time and space. This incident, often occurring in childhood, can overshadow one’s sense of competence and judgement, causing them to become developmentally “stuck” at that moment in time. The natural protective responses that arise serve both to guard the self and, paradoxically, to widen further the gap between one’s present self and their secure self.

These protective measures, though once effective during childhood, can become burdensome anchors in adulthood, holding individuals down in the darkness of trauma and self-doubt preventing them from fully thriving. Such incidents, especially when they involve caregiver relationships, can lead to fractured attachment bonds and the establishment of attachment agreements that prioritize safety. During intense distress, many of us often sacrifice our true selves, prioritizing attachment over authenticity for survival. Additionally, we might shoulder the burden of adult decisions and shortcomings due to lack of safety, choice and trust.

The ABI Intervention employs the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and social engagement mechanisms to pinpoint and address maladaptive core memories. Through this approach, an individual’s vulnerabilities and physiological cues guide the process, accurately identifying the distressing memory. The provided template can assist in dissecting various facets of the Attachment Blueprint Incident.
